Alone at the top of the league table
In the most important game of the season so far Manchester was facing the other undefeated team of the league Salford in an away game.
The first two quarters belonged to Manchester which was leading at some point with as many as 20 points and the halftime ended with the score at 24-42.
In the 3rd quarter it seemed that UMBC stayed in the locker room as they were outscored by Salford 23-10. So the 3rd quarter ended up with the score at 47-52.
A good start of the 4th quarter and a lead of 15 points were more than enough for Manchester to secure the game which ended with 61-78.
After the first 4 games of the season UMBC is enjoying the loneliness of the 1st position with a record of 4-0.
Leading scorers for UMBC were Andreas Vasilatos with 22 points (7 steals), Carol Serban with 20 points (9 rebounds) and Hanad Ahmed with 18 points (7rebounds).
