9th game

In the most important of the season which would crown the champion of the Northern 2A league Manchester was hosting Salford. Both teams were coming to the game with a record of 7-1.

In the beginning of the game Salford was forcing Manchester to take difficult shots while they had a very good percentage and lead the quarter by 7 points. In contrast to the first quarter Manchester turned the game over and lead the half 26-25. Foul trouble was the main issue in the 3rd quarter so the coach had to do a big rotation, but the players who came off the bench contributed to keep the lead by scoring a total of 28 points in the game. In the 4th quarter both teams were scoring big baskets but none of them seemed to get away in the scoreboard. 

So it all came down to the last minute. With 30 seconds remaining in the clock Salford scored a basket which put them in the lead (56-57). Manchester was in the offence and with 7 seconds to go Andreas Vasilatos was fouled while attempting a 3 point shot and went to the free throw line. The outcome was 3/3 made free throws which put UMBC in the lead. Salford missed a 3 pointer in their final offence and Manchester won the championship!

Andreas Vasilatos and Freddie Stephenson with 15 and 13 points respectively lead the way in scoring.
